What happens during a consultation?
You begin by telling me what is troubling you. It's helpful to give as much
detail as possible about your symptoms, including anything that makes them
better or worse.
If you have noticed any other changes in yourself such as mood, anxieties,
sleep, dreams, appetite, thirst, temperature, since the symptoms started,
these can also be very useful.
I will normally take a full medical case history from you, and record
details of any previous health problems in your family, going back to your
grandparents. If you haven't all of the details, I'll work with what I have,
so don't worry. The aim of the consultation is to get an overview, not only
of your complaint but also of you as a person.
In the shorter follow up consultation we I'll assess your reaction to the
remedy and decide how best to continue.
Remedies stimulate the body, which may react as part of the healing process. Often this passes unnoticed but
sometimes involves some sort of discharge, possibly emotional with tears for example, or physical such as
catarrh, diarrhoea or a rash, or indeed some other minor symptom. This is the body's way of eliminating what
it doesn't need and often what is partly causing the symptoms in the first place. Improvement normally follows.
Sometimes if the remedy is working well, we may wait without a further
prescription, but the information gathered during the appointment may well
be used later on in selecting the next remedy.
Above all I'll endeavour to make you feel relaxed and comfortable upon
your visit to the clinic.
